Clarence Morgan is an artist whose work spans several mediums— painting, drawing, printmaking, and occasional writing. He concentrates on subjects of abstract nature. Morgan is a native of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where he also received his formal education from the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts and later his Master’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania’s Graduate School of Fine Arts. He taught for 21 years at the School of Art at East Carolina University, until he relocated to become a professor in the Department of Art at the University of Minnesota. Morgan became head of the department of Art in 2004, in which he stepped down in 2010 to return to teaching. Morgan has participated in over 200 group exhibitions all around the world. He currently resides in Minneapolis, Minnesota, with his artist wife. They share a studio space.
