Sat. July 13, 2024, 11:00am - 4:00pm RAIN OR SHINE In coordination with City of Water Day This fun, interactive event is free to the general public and will connect residents to Long Island Sound/East River to increase the use, appreciation, and support for our local waters. Community members can participate in maritime activities such as:
• Stewardship Activities (i.e. shoreline cleanup, oyster restoration with Billion Oyster Project)
• Marine Environmental Science (i.e. shoreline exploration/seining, touch tank, water quality monitoring)
• Waterfront Community Programs (i.e. kayaking, sailing and boating with qualified skippers)
• Free fishing clinic provided by I Fish NY Although the weather reports suggest that the day might be on the rainy side, we are all systems go! With safety being of the utmost importance to us, we will not conduct any on-water activities if lightning is present or approaching.
