Junior Swim Team Signup for Skill Level Check-October2026



SUNY Maritime College is proud to introduce the Junior Privateers Swim Team, a program designed to build skill, confidence, and a love of the water. Open to swimmers ages (8-16 years), the Junior Privateers will offer structured practices, experienced coaching, and a welcoming environment for swimmers. 


We are pleased to offer the following day/time to determine skill level of each swimmer. 


Only one date below is required for this skill level check 

Monday, October 5, 2026 from 6:30pm-8:30pm

OR

Tuesday, October 6, 2026 from 6:30pm-8:30pm

OR

Thursday, October 8, 2026 from 6:30pm-8:30pm


Skill Level Requirements are as follows:

  • 25 yard front crawl & back crawl
  • all strokes using proper form


Season will be from October 2026-March 2027. This team will consist a max of 30 swimmers. 

Following this level check, practices will be held on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:30pm-8:30pm. (2 practices per week requirement).

 If enough interest for a junior swim team, registration will open up shortly for the season. The cost for this program will be $650.00.  Payment plans can be arranged 

All practices will be held at the SUNY Maritime Aquatic Center. Once the team has been established and practices are underway, swim meets will be scheduled for January-March 2026.  Transportation to any meets not at SUNY Maritime College is the responsibility of the parents. 

These skill level checks and practices will be run by our WSIs (Jacklyn Aylward, Makayla Sessa and Charlotte Fitzsimons).
