Parmesan Wheel Cutting Experience

Join us on the greenspace of the Tony & Libba Rane Culinary Science Center for an exciting, live Parmesan wheel cracking, cutting and tasting with Chef Eric Rivera! The aged Parmesan wheel will be ceremonially cracked and served with a tasting of four Italian wines. Compare the subtle differences between two wheels of Parmesan. Chef will prepare authentic cacio e pepe samples atop the cut wheel – infusing a flavor that cannot be replicated by pre-grated cheese.

What to expect:

A ceremonial demonstration of Parmesan wheel cutting.
A tasting of two Parmesan wheels of cheese – observe the difference!
Enjoy four delicate Italian wines, plus a welcome glass of sparkling wine.
A chance to taste fresh cacio e pepe tossed in the wheel!
A lovely evening out on the greenspace.
The opportunity to take home your own piece of Parma by purchasing ½ lb. and 1 lb. chunks of the wheel, either in advance or at the event.

Option to purchace a block of cheese:

½ lb. of Parmesan = $15.26 (includes tax)

What if I have a big group—will we sit together?
There’s no reserved seating. It is a casual outdoor cocktail event atmosphere.

Is food served?
Parmesan samples and small plates of cacio e pepe will be served.

Where do I park?
Parking – Week day
Street parking is free after 6:00 p.m. You can park for free after 5:00 p.m. on the 2nd or 3rd floors of the parking deck adjacent to the Auburn University Hotel & Conference Center. To find more details about downtown parking, you may visit the City of Auburn’s website. Sometimes finding parking can be a challenge, so please allow yourself enough time. We don’t want you to miss a thing! Before 5pm consult the City of Auburn’s parking link above. The Wright Street Deck allows for parking for longer than two hours.
