Tuna Trifecta

Birmingham’s Sushi Chef, Kelly Jo Viall, returns to the Rane Culinary Science Center for an exciting new class on selecting, butchering, and preparing tuna at home. Watch as she demonstrates her famous spicy tuna nachos, the art of building the perfect poke bowl, and how to expertly sear tuna—while you taste each preparation along the way.

What time doors open? Check-in will begin at 5:30PM and the doors will open at 5:50PM.  All seating is on a first come, first served basis.

What if I have a big group—will we sit together? Make sure to arrive in time to check-in before and enter when the doors open at 5:50PM for best seat selection and to save seats for your group.

Is food served? Yes, attendees will sample all the menu items as the chef demonstrates the items. 

Where do I park?  Parking – Week day 
Street parking is free after 6:00 p.m. You can park for free after 5:00 p.m. on the 2nd or 3rd floors of the parking deck adjacent to the Auburn University Hotel & Conference Center. To find more details about downtown parking, you may visit the City of Auburn’s website. Sometimes finding parking can be a challenge, so please allow yourself enough time. We don’t want you to miss a thing! Before 5pm consult the City of Auburn’s parking linked above.  The Wright Street Deck allows for longer than two hour parking.  The Auburn University lot across Thach behind the AU Chapel is now used for valet for The Laurel & Walt’s Rooftop in the evenings. 

What is attire?  There is no specific dress code for the event.  You might feel most comfortable in smart casual.
