ALDOT Earthwork/Base Technician Course (FY 25-26)

Applicants must have a minimum of 6 months work experience in current classification to register for this course.

This is a two and a half day course consisting of classroom instruction and case studies. The objective is to give technicians an understanding of what is needed to ensure quality construction of various earthwork and base courses. Topics to be covered include contractor & ALDOT responsibilities, soil properties, how to identify classes of soil materials, collecting field samples, soil and aggregate density, pass/fail criteria, what to do in case of failure, and best practices.

The Radiation Safety course is a prerequisite for this course.
