Mandarin Chinese Language Course

AU-NCKU Taiwan Center offers various levels of Chinese language courses each semester. We offer courses at 8 levels from beginning to High-Intermediate (1-8). We put emphasis on both language skills( Listening, Speaking, Writing, Reading, and Grammar & Vocabulary) and cross-cultural communication. Students need to complete each course successfully in order to move onto the next level.  Choose level during registration.

Level1: The following describes the topics of Level 1 : 1. Introduce oneself, family 2. Talk about hobbies 3. Ask and talk about prices 4. Make simple comments about food.
 
Level2: The following describes the topics of Level 2 :1. Describe the locations 2. Tell and ask about the time 3. Make simple comparison about varies mode of transportation 4. Discuss travel plans 5. Give simple descriptions of someone’s appearance.
 
Level3: The following describes the topics of Level 3 : 1. Rent a place 2. Study plans 3. Express wishes to others on special occasions 4. Talk about weather conditions 5. Describe symptoms in simple terms.
 
Level4: The following describes the topics of Level 4 : 1. Talk about locations and give directions 2. Compare, explain, and choose suitable means of transportation 3. Talk about learning experiences 4. Talk about education and working experiences 5. Understand wedding traditions.
 
Level5: The following describes the topics of Level 5 : 1. Moving home 2. Express one’s understanding of culture differences 3. Talk about learning experiences 4. Accept and decline invitations 5. Compare two different places 6. Introduce the cuisines.
 
Level6: The following describes the topics of Level 6 : 1. Talk about travel plans 2. Talk about eating habits and the eating customs 3. Offer solutions for problems 4. Talk about studies and lifestyle 5. Express welcome and carry-on conversations with visiting guests
 
Level7: The following describes the topics of Level 7 : 1. Persuade others 2. Refute arguments 3. Describe changes in climate and weather 4. Emphasize, give examples, and provide further information 5. Talk about trends 6. Talk about changes in society, including values and lifestyle.
 
Level8: The following describes the topics of Level 8 : 1. Talk about merits and shortcomings of different family makeups 2. Discuss differences in traditional and modern ideas and values 3. Talk about online shopping methods and processes 4. Explain injuries and discuss treatment with doctors 5. Give a rough introduction of one’s own country’s history 6. Discuss issues related to elections for elected representatives.
