The workshop was developed around a research project by James Elrod, Auburn University, and Georgia-Pacific assessing the application of primary clarifier solids from the Georgia-Pacific Brewton Mill to young pine plantation in South Alabama. Dr. Sonja Thomas, Alabama Cooperative Extension System, discusses updated Federal Worker Protection Standards for pesticide applicators. Logan Martin, Corteva Agriscience, discusses Corteva herbicides and their uses in forest management. Dr. John Kush, Auburn University, compares the use of fire and herbicides when managing both loblolly and longleaf pine. The webinar wraps up with a talk on Site Preparation and Vegetation Management in pine plantations by Dr. Richard Cristan, Auburn University/Alabama Cooperative Extension System. Attendees who complete the webinar will receive 3 Continuing Education hours for the Alabama State Board of Registration for Foresters and 3 PLM hours.
